AKR to deliver its first coal exports to China in November

PT AKR Corporindo Tbk, energy and petrochemical products distributor company, will deliver its first coal exports to China in November this year, with a volume of 45,000-50,000 tonnes, company President Director Haryanto Adikoesoemo said.
The coal will be delivered to AKR?s port in Guigang River, China. He said the company?s low sulfur coal will be mixed with coal from China with high sulfur level so that it is more environmentally friendly. AKR?s coal has calorific value of between 4,800 kcal to 5,000 kcal.
AKR has so far sold 15,000 tonnes to domestic market, but declined to disclose the buyer. AKR has set aside US$100 million to acquire greenfield or already producing mining assets.
AKR conducts coal mining activities through its subsidiary PT Bumi Karunia Pertiwi and targets to produce 300,000 tonnes by the end of this year. It aims to raise its coal production to two million tonnes next year. (giok)
