AKR to start coal production from C. Kalimantan mine

Indonesia-listed fuel distributor and logistics firm AKR Corporindo Tbk is planning to start coal production from its coal mine PT Anugerah Karya Raya (AKR Coal) in Muara Teweh regency, Central Kalimantan in this year.

AKR will build coal infrastructures in the mine, including two jetty coal terminals in Barito river. With the completion of the jetty terminal, the company will integrate its fuel and coal logistics infrastructure in Central Kalimantan, the company said on Monday

The company did not disclose planned production rate.

AKR Coal is a joint venture firm between AKR Corporindo Tbk with a 78 percent stake and the remaining held by PT Panca Synergy Harmony. AKR Coal has calorific value at 5,600-6,000 kcal/kg (ADB). (denny)
