Alam Karya to acquire two coal firms

IDX-listed mining services firm PT Alam Karya Unggul Tbk is seeking to acquire to coal mining firms in East Kalimantan PT Mulawarman Putra Abadi Sakti (MPAS) and PT Mentari Bhakti Jaya Utama (MBJU).
According to company presentation material seen on Wednesday, both MPAS and MBJU have yet to start coal production. MBJU is currently in the process of obtaining the production operation IUP mining permit to allow the firm to carry out coal mining and trade activities. MBJU plans to start coal production in the first quarter of 2015.
Elsewhere, the company said it was also interested in acquiring mineral mining assets in the country.
