Alfa Energi holding beauty contest to choose power project consultant

Coal mining company PT Alfa Energi is conducting a beauty contest to choose a consultant to carry out for feasibility studies (FS) to develop mine mouth power plant with the capacity of 50 MW at Anggana district, Kutai Kartanegara regency, East Kalimantan province.
Company Director Aris Munanadar told Petromindo.com on Tuesday that there are several companies participating in the beauty contest.
?There are several candidates and we are still comparing them. We expect to finish the beauty contest by May,? he said, adding that a consultant has been chosen, it will immediately start working on the FS.
Aris added that the company is also seeking partners to conduct EPC and to finance the project. He added that total investment for this project is around US$100 million.
Earlier, Aris said that the company has completed a pre-feasibility study for the project and obtained the principal license and location permit from the local government.
Alfa Energy will use its coal from its concession in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, which JORC results show have about 25 million tons of resources and 11 million tons of reserve. The concession measures about 2,000 ha with a coal CV of GAR 4300.
