Coal mining company PT Alfa Energi will maintain coal production from its concession in Samarinda, East Kalimantan at the level of 50,000 tons per month.

An industry source told Petromindo.com on Thursday that currently the company is conducting mining activity as well as drilling activity.

The source said that the company has budgeted about US$ 1 million in capital expenditure for JORC activity and land acquisition.

"Based on the previous drilling, the concession has about 10 million reserves and now the company is also conducting drilling activity for JORC compliance," the source said adding that the concession measures about 2,000 hectares of land with a calorific content (CV) of 4300-4200 kl/kg GAR.

"Hopefully the JORC document can be finished by July 2015," he said adding that the coal produced from the concession is so far delivered to traders.
