Altura sees delayed first coal production, waiting for IUP production

Australia firm Altura Mining Ltd said it would start coal production at its Tabalong mine South Kalimantan early next year, as against the initial plan of mid-2011, a company official told Petromindo.Com.

The company?s geologist Stephen Barber said that currently, the company is waiting for the govenrment to issue the IUP Operation and Production. ?We expect we can obtain the IUP Operation and Production before year-end," he said.

The company plans to produce 500,000 tonnes of coal in the first year. Calorific value of the coal is around 6,500 kcal/kg (ADB). ?Our coal is of high CV thermal type,? he added.

He also said that there isn't yet any offtake agreement with buyers. (denny)
