Altus to add Indonesian transshipper fleet

PT Altus Lines Indonesia (ALI), a unit of Singapore shipping and logistics firm Altus Group is planning to expand its Indonesian transshipper fleet, a company official said on Tuesday.

President Director Lennardi Anggijono told Petromindo.Com that the Company is in talks with potential several potential users in Kalimantan.

?As soon as the deal will be sealed, we?ll order the construction of two transshipper in Batam shipyard,? he said, adding that one of the transshippers will be equipped with belt conveyor to facilitate blending.

Each of the planned transhippers will have loading capacity of 20,000 tonnes per day.

Lennardi said ALI will spend US$20 million to build the transshipper equipeed with belt conveyor and $8-10 million to build the one without belt conveyor.

He did not say when the transshippers will become operational.

ALI currently operates thee units of transshippers in Kalimantan namely Quito AKM-3, Quito AKM-5 and Quito Samarinda. (denny)
