Independent power producer PT Amera Terrasys Energy plans to soon start construction of its long-delayed 2x100 MW hydro power plant project in South Sulawesi Province.
President Director of Amera Fuad Asrori told Petromindo.com last week that a groundbreaking ceremony to officially start construction is expected to take place before December of this year. He did not say when construction will be completed.
?This project has been delayed since 2013,? he said, pointing out that the delay was related to permitting process.
Amera on Friday signed power purchase agreement (PPA) with state-owned electricity firm PT PLN, under the electricity output from the hydro power plant project would be sold to PLN at a tariff of 7.63 US cents per kWh.
He said that the project will require estimated investment of around US$500 million to be funded via internal funds and bank loans.
