Amerada Hess? Indonesian crude production fell in Q3 2002

US oil company Amerada Hess reported on Thursday its net Indonesian crude production in the third quarter of this year fell to 4,000 barrels per day (BPD) in the third quarter of this year compared to last year?s corresponding period net production of 6,000 BPD. This quarter?s net production, however, is higher than previous quarter?s production of 3,000 BPD.
The company?s 9-month 2002 net production is 5,000 BPD, lower than last year?s 9-month production of 6,000 BPD.
The company did not say the cause of the decline.
Amerada Hess has 30 percent of non-operating interest in Jabung PSC onshore South Sumatra, operating Pangkah PSC in East Java, and has 25 percent non-operating interest in Jambi-Merang JOB onshore South Sumatra. The company is the operator of Tanjung Aru exploration block offshore East Kalimantan and has interst in Blora exploration block in Central Java. Recently, Hess sold its 70 percent interest in Lematang PSC in Sumatra to JSX-listed oil company Medco Energi International for US$ 6 million.(alex)
