Amerada Hess interested in Pertamina?s Blora block, proposes asset swap

American oil and gas company Amerada Hes had voiced interest to participate in state oil and gas Pertamina?s fields in Blora, Central Java, a Pertamina official said.

Pertamina?s upstream director Gatot K. Wiroyudo told Petromindo.Com on Thursday that the American oil and gas firm offered its interest in an oil producing block in the Malaysian state of Sabah in exchange for interest the Blora block.

?We remain undecided about the offer,? he said.

It is unclear which block in Sabah being offered by Hess to Pertamina. According to the company?s website, Hess has interests in two blocks offshore Sabah, that is the Block F and the SK-306 block in partnership with Malaysian firm Petronas?s subsidiary Carigali.

In Indonesia, Hess currently has interest in six blocks , including in the Jabung and Jambi Merang blocks in Jambi, the Lematang block in South Sumatra and the Pangkah block in East Java. (Alex)
