Amerada Hess Q2 Indonesian crude production sharply down

US oil and gas company Amerada Hess on Wednesday reported its Indonesian net crude production was sharply down to 1,000 barrels per day (BPD) in the second quarter of 2003 from 4,000 (BPD) in the previous quarter.

Amerada did not say the cause of production decline, early last quarter the company had sold its entire 30 interest in Jabung PSC in South Sumatra in the second quarter. The block was the company's main producing Indonesian asset.

The remaining Amerada?s assets in Indonesia are the Pangkah PSC in East Java (66 percent and operator), the Jambi-Merang joint operating body (JOB) onshore South Sumatra (25 percent), and Tanjung Aru exploration block in Makassar Strait (50 percent and operator). (robert)
