Amerada Hess (Indonesia-Pangkah) Ltd, the operator of the Pangkah PSC offshore East Java plans to carry out a 3D marine seismic acquisition on the Ronggolawe prospect of the block in the fourth quarter of 2005.

?The scope of this project is the deepwater acquisition of 3D multi-streamer marine seismic data in the Amerada Hess (Indonesia-Pangkah) Ltd permit area in the Java Sea,? the company said in a notice of tender released Thursday, adding that the survey would be conducted in a water depth between 20 and 60 meters.

The Pangkah PSC, located in the East Java Sea adjacent to Java and Madura, has a total area of 2,924 km2. The block contains two existing oil and gas fields, Sidayu and Ujung Pangkah.

The development of the Ujung Pangkah field was approved by the government in late 2004 following the signing of contracts for the supply of natural gas to markets in East Java. First gas is anticipated in 2007. (Robert)
