Amindotek, Cilegon port sign MoU for Warnasari port facilities

PT Amindotek Group, through its subsidiary PT Akar Kaniis Indonesia (AKI), has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PT Pelabuhan Cilegon Mandiri  (PCM), to develop Warnasari Port supporting facilities on 35 hectares of land.

President Director of Pelabuhan Cilegon Mandiri  H. Arif Rivai said the supporting facilities to be developed in the area will include warehouse, storage and fuel facilities.

"This MoU is aiming at supporting the 10 hectares of land for jetty and bridge, which will be managed by PT Duta Tong Yang Indonusa," said Arif Rivai in a statement on Sunday (30/6), as reported by Kontan.co.id.

Arif said the MoU will be followed up by a more technical discussions on profit sharing or other options of cooperation scheme.

Municipality Head of Cilegon Edi Ariadi said the signing of the MoU is an important momentum for the futher development of Cilegon in the western tip of the Java island.

Banten is a home of many industrial zones, therefore the presence of the port will be crucial.

"The struggle of the Cilegon people to have its own port has been going for quite sometimes, starting from 2002. The development of Warnasari Port is expected to stimulate the economic activities in the Cilegon area," added Edi.

Edi added that the MoU will help fast forward the development of the Warnasari Port.

Chief Executive Officer Grup Amindotek, RM Aryo Maulana said the company is interested to develop the port as it is strategically located, as will become a gateway to the Cilegon industrial area. It will help improve the flow of goods from to and from the industrial zones.

The MoU was signed by Director for Operational and Commercial of PT PCM Akmal Firmasyah and President Director of PT Akar Kaniis Indonesia Aditya Fahrurozi and witnessed by Reda Mantofani of the Attorney General Office. (*)
