Anadarko fails to find hydrocarbon in recent E. Java drilling campaign

US oil firm Anadarko Petroleum?s drilling campaign in North East Madura III exploration block offshore East Java failed to discover hydrocarbon, a BPMIGAS official said.
Dodi Hidayat, BPMIGAS Deputy Operations told Petromindo.Com on Tuesday that Jahe-1 well, which was drilled to the depth of 5,180 feet and Merica-1 well, drilled to the depth of 5,350 feet were plugged and abandoned on July 15 and July 29, respectively, after failing to discover hydrocarbon.
Anadarko, the block?s operator has 60 percent interest in the block, with the remaining balance owned by US oil major Chevron Corp. (godang)
