Anadarko?s Garam-1 well plugged and abandoned

The United States-based Anadarko Petroleum Corp. said Wednesday that Garam #1 exploration well in the North East Madura III PSC, offshore East Java is plugged and abandoned as the company not find commercial hydrocarbon.
Anadarko drilled the Garam #1 exploration well in April to a total depth of 5,982 feet in 261 feet of water. The well did not find commercial and was plugged and abandoned.
In 2006, Anadarko drilled two exploration wells in the block. According to BPMIGAS, the Jahe 1 well, which was drilled to depth of 5,180 feet ad Merica-1 well, drilled to the depth of 5,350 feet were plugged and abandoned, after the firm failed to discover hydrocarbon.
Anadarko was the operator with a 60% working interest and the remaining holds by Chevron Indonesia Company. (denny)
