Anadarko says divestment of Indonesia assets continues

Indonesian unit of US oil, gas firm Anadarko Petroleum Company said on Tuesday that process to sell its entire upstream assets in Indonesia is still ongoing.

Spokesperson Eka Surono told Petromindo.Com that the company is currently opening data room for interested parties.

Anadarko is the operator of Nunukan PSC, East Kalimantan with 35 percent interest. Other participants are Medco Energi with 40 percent interest and the balance equally shared by Indian companies Bharat Petroleum and Videocon.

The Nunukan partnership has in 2010 encountered approximately 133 net feet of oil and gas pay from Badik-1 exploration well.

Anadarko has 33.75 percent interest in both Ambalat and Bukat blocks which are operated by Italian giant Eni SpA. Both blocks are located offshore East Kalimantan and some part of the blocks are located in the waters disputed by Indonesia and Malaysia.

Eni has reportedly managed to discover hydrocarbon of significant volume in Bukat.

?A number of big companies including those who haven?t operated in Indonesia have shown interest,? Eka said without giving further explanation.
