Anadarko to drill 3 wells on Badik prospect

Indonesian unit of US oil, gas firm Anadarko Petroleum Company said it plans to drill up to three wells in 2012 on the Badik prospect in Nunukan PSC, East Kalimantan, in a approximately 220-250 feet water depth.

The company said on Friday in a tender announcement that the project will utilize a jack-up drilling rig.

Anadarko and partners in the block in 2010 encountered approximately 133 net feet of oil and gas pay from Badik-1 exploration well.

Anadarko is the Nunukan PSC operator with 35 percent interest. Indonesian firm Medco Energi has 40 percent interest in the block with the balance equally shared by Indian firms Videocon Industries Limited and Bharat PetroResources Limited. (romel/roffie)
