Monday, September 29 2008 - 12:57 AM WIB

US oil firm Anadarko Petroleum will drill single exploration well in Nunukan PSC, East Kalimantan in the first quarter of 2009, the company said in a tender announcement on Monday.

Anadarko has 60 percent working interest in Nunukan with Medco Energi holding the balance. The block was awarded by the government in 2004.

In 2006, the partnership had completed drilling in Serban-3 well. Evaluation showed that the shallow prospect is not commercially viable. Therefore, the partnership intends to focus on the deep area of the block, Medco said in its website. (denny)
