Andhika to start production end of this year

Coal mining company PT Andhika Yoga Pratama in Sarolangun, Jambi Province, is expected to start production at the end of this year following completion of ongoing construction of supporting infrastructure facilities.

?We target to start production at the end of this year,? Ktut Hantara, a geologist of the company told Petromindo on Wednesday, without elaborating the expected annual production.

He said that the company is currently building a 30-kilometer hauling road traversing from Andhika?s site in Sarolangun to the nearby river.

The company?s website said that the Andhika coal concession covers an area of 3,000 ha with 385 million tons of coal resources. It has reported an estimate of 246 million tons of coal reserves at an average stripping ratio of 2.8 bcm/t in compliance with JORC.

A total of 19 seams and sub-seams, or seam splits have been identified with one of the seams having an average thickness of up to 13.7 meters and only 5-8m dip with no fault on its geological structure

The coal is of lignite rank and typically with a low ash; average 5.6% adb (air dried basis), low sulphur: average 0.23% adb, inherent moisture 13.7%, an average total moisture of 44.7% as received, an average calorific Value of 3,445 kcal/kg gross as received (gar) or equivalent to 5,300 kcal/kg air dried basis (adb).
