The hydro power plant is located in Sukaresmi village, Rongga subdistrict, West Java.
Josef M. Ullmer, Andritz Hydro?s president director for South East Asia & New Zealand, said that his company already has experiences in constructing large-scale hydro power plants, such as PLTA Karebbe with capacity of 90 megawatt in Malili, Luwu Timur Regency, South Sulawesi owned by PT International Nickel Indonesia Tbk (Inco).
?We?re focusing on hydro power development,? Josef was quoted by Investor Daily as saying in Nusa Dua, Bali.
He said Andritz Hydro has a long experience in building turbines. The company already built 30,000 turbines with capacity of 400,000 MW.
PLN estimated that the cost to construct the entire project, including land acquisition, purchase of turbines and road infrastructure would reach Rp6 trillion. Portion of the funds would come from the World Bank.
The Upper Cisokan PLTA will be equipped with four power generators, each with an output capacity of 260 megawatts. Power produced by the plant will be integrated with the Java-Bali power network. (*)
