Angkasa Pura invests $45m in solar power plants

State-owned airport management company PT Angkasa Pura I has allocated US$45 million to build four solar power plants in four airports with a combined capacity of 50 MW, Bisnis Indonesia reported Thursday.

The paper quoted company Head of Communications Department Handy Heryudhitiawan as saying that the four airports include the Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Denpasar, Sepinggan in Balikpapan, Juanda in Surabaya, and Sultan Hasanudin in Makassar.

He said that the first project would be implemented in Gusti Ngurah Rai aiport. He added that the project, in partnership with Sintesa Group and Sun-Edition, is part of the airports? transformation into eco-airport. (*)
