Pertamina?s gas field in Anjatan district, Cirebon has started production with a capacity of between 5 and 7 million standard cubic feet (MMSCF) per day. Of the total gas production, about 2 MMSCF have been marketed, Kompas daily reported on Friday.

Sri Kustini, the spokes person for Pertamina?s Cirebon operation, said the Anjatan gas field is operated by PT Radiant Energi Sukatani under a technical assistance contract (TAT) with the state oil and gas company.

?Radiant acts operator, while Pertamina handles the marketing,? she said in a ceremony marking the start of the production. Also present at the occasion were General Manajaer of PT Radiant Energi Sukatani Ir Tar Maryono, Manager of Gas Transmission in Cirebon Ir Teuku Amiruddin Muda, and Head of the Anjatan district

Drs Didi Suwendi.

According to Sri Kustini, the Anjatan gas field was first drilled by Pertamina in 1982. But it was later transferred to PT Radiant because the production was too low to be operated by the state oil and gas company. She said Pertamina?s total gas production from 86 fields in Cirebon reach 382 MMSCF per day.(*)
