Another BPMIGAS official resigns

Head of BPMIGAS deep sea development board Iwan Renaldi Soedigdo has tendered resignation, the second official of the upstream oil and gas regulating agency to step down after deputy chief of operation Budi Indianto who quit office earlier this month.

Speculation has been rife that Iwan resigned due to internal problems, but BPMIGAS head of public relations, security and formality Gde Pradnyana said Iwan had received an offer to pursue career outside the upstream oil and gas regulator.

?He resigns because there are many offers. For sure it has nothing to do with technical matters,? Pradnyana told detikFinance on Thursday.

?We cannot force him to stay if he accepts the offer.?

BPMIGAS is still looking for the right person to fill in Iwan?s shoes. ?The post remains vacant and BPMIGAS is searching for the right person to fill it,? Pradnyana said.

He added that the head of deep sea development agency was responsible for supervising oil and gas exploration in deep seas.

Separately BPMIGAS spokesman Elan Biantoro said Iwan had submitted his resignation letter.

?We have received the letter. So far however we don?t know the reasons for his resignation,? Elan said. (godang)
