Another rally to protest Iraq attack to be held Unocal?s E. Kalimantan office

Indonesian unit of US Oil Company Unocal Corp. said Monday that it had received notification that some 300 protesters from Justice Party will hold rally around the company?s compound to protest US attack on Iraq.

?But we are not too worry about that, since we had been informed that they will hold the rally in peace, said Suta Vijaya, Unocal Indonesia?s community relation manager in phone interview with Petromindo.Com.

Last Friday a mass of protesters also held rally in Unocal office compound in Pasir Ridge, Balikpapan, and East Kalimantan. Protesters tried to force into the compound but were halted by police.

Some 500 protesters were also held rally in Vico Indonesia?s office in Muara Badak, East Kalimantan.

United States, Australia and The UK had issued fresh travel warning to Indonesia amid allied forces attack to Iraq. Australia even warned that there could be another attack at Bali bomb scale and UK warned that expatriate lives could be targeted in Surabaya.

Meanwhile, BP Migas spokesperson L. Harijanto said Unocal Indonesia and Amerada Hess had resumed their Jakarta offices operations, which were closed on Friday.(godang)
