Anshan Iron and Steel Group plans to set up plant in RI

China?s Anshan Iron and Steel Group plans to set up a steel plant with a capacity of 5 million tons per year in the Morowali Tsingshan Industrial Estate in Morowali, Central Sulawesi, reports said on Thursday.
Bisnis Indonesia quoted Imam Haryano, Director General of Industrial Zone Development at the Ministry of Industry, as saying that officials at the Chinese firm visited the ministry two weeks ago to express its interest in developing the steel plant.
He said that Anshan will use coal as source of energy for the planned steel plant. Anshan, however, has yet to disclose the size of the investment. (*)
