IDX-listed mining firm PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam) expected gold production this year to reach about 3 tons, the same as last year?s output.

?It (production will be relatively) small. Totally, it would only be about 3 tons,? Antam Director for Development and Production, Johan Nababan told Petromindo.com last week.

He said that the gold output would come from the company?s Pongkor and Cibaliung mines in West Java.

Antam in 2014 produced about 2.3 tons of gold.

Antam has recently closed down its Cikotok mine in Banten due to depleting reserves. It plans to shut down the Pongkor mine in 2019.
