Antam interested to acquire ex-Vale concessions

IDX-listed mining firm PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam) said it is interested to acquire the former mining concessions of IDX-listed PT Vale Indonesia Tbk which have been returned to the state, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Monday.
The paper quoted Antam President Director Tedy Badrujaman as saying that the company won?t miss such opportunity as it seeks to expand its mineral concessions.
As part of its mining contract amendment with the government, Vale has returned a combined 72,074.66 hectares concessions in Sulawesi to the government. The government plans to offer around 30,309 hectares of the total to new investors.
The Central Sulawesi provincial administration has earlier expressed similar interest to acquire the ex-Vale concessions located in the province. (*)
