Antam, ITB sign MOU

Publicly listed state miner PT Aneka Tambang Tbk. announced Friday that on July 29, 2001 it had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) for cooperation towards human resources development, education, applied research and community development.
According to Antam, the first stage of the MOU, which was slated for five years, would cover education and training for Antam employees, internships for ITB students; joint research and development initiatives; programs to encourage and support small business and entrepreneurs near its gold mine in Pongkor, Banten province in addition to other mutually agreed development programs.
A Cooperation Development Board would be formed to further clarify scope and objectives of the various initiatives, while various joint committees would organize the implementation of the activities, said Antam. (alex)
