Antam, Kores tie up in E. Java gold exploration cooperation

Publicly listed state miner PT. Aneka Tambang Tbk. (Antam) and South Korea?s Korea Resources Corporation (Kores) signed a MoU to conduct a preliminary survey on Antam?s 15,070ha gold prospect at Lawu, East Java, according to Antam?s quarterly report released Friday . The MoU was signed in October.
The preliminary survey will include geological surveys, geochemical exploration and trenching. Under the agreement, Kores will be given first priority as Antam?s partner to develop the area further, provided promising results are found.
The report did not say when joint survey would be conducted. (alex)
