IDX-listed miner PT Aneka Tambang (Antam) is looking for a partner that can supply gas for its power plants in Maluku and Central Sulawesi.

"We're still looking for gas. We're willing to talk to anyone that can supply the gas, both the volume and price. This is for our existing power plants in Halmahera and Pomalaa," President Director Alwinsyah Lubis told petromindo.com.

Alwin added that the firm is in the process of completing the expansion of Pomalaa power plant, designed to generate additional 2X30 MW of electricity and to be fueled by coal.

"For full-operation we'll need about 1.5m tons of coal, which we will fulfill from our mines."

The electricity will be used to operate its smelter.
