JSX-listed State miner PT.Aneka Tambang Tbk. (Antam) has expressed interest to buy LNG from Tangguh to support development of its FeNi IV ferronickel smelter that would be built in Halmahera island, North Maluku.

Director General of Oil and Gas Luluk Sumiarso said last week that Antam is planning to build mini-LNG receiving terminal, but did not give details.

Antam's Corporate Secretary Bimo Budi Satriyo said that Antam has sent letter to upstream oil and gas regulator body BPMIGAS about its interest, but did not say when the delivery would be expected or the volume sought.

Antam operates three smelters called FeNi I, FeNi II and FeNi III in Pomalaa, South East Sulawesi (godang)
