Antam, Medco win 2005 Annual Report Award

State-owned diversified mining company PT Aneka Tambang Tbk and energy firm PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk have won the 2005 Annual Report Award dedicated for companies which have good information disclosure.

The awards were presented by Vice President Jusuf Kalla at a ceremony in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Antam won the award for the publicly listed state-owned company category, while Medco is awarded for the private publicly listed company category and is also honored as the general winner in the competition.

The award is jointly organized by the State Ministerial Office of State Owned Companies, Directorate General of Taxation, Capital Market Supervisory Agency (BAPEPAM), Jakarta Stock Exchange, Indonesian Accountant Association (IAI), and National Committee for the Corporate Governance.

Antam is one of Indonesia?s leading mining companies with nickel and gold as its core products. Antam is also one of the lowest cost producers in the world with more than 33 years experience in the mining industry.

Meanwhile, Medco is an integrated energy company with business involvement in oil and gas exploration and production, drilling services, methanol production and most recently power generation. (godang)
