Antam plans to build power plant in N. Maluku

IDX-listed mining firm PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam) plans to develop a power plant at its ferronickel plant project in East Halmahera Regency, North Maluku Province, Kontan reported Saturday.
The paper quoted Antam Corporate Secretary Tri Hartono as saying that the state-controlled company would seek a partner, particularly state-owned enterprise, to help develop the power plant.
He declined to provide further details, but a source told the paper that the power plant would have a capacity of 125 MW, and estimated investment of US$250 million.
The first phase of Antam?s ferronickel plant in East Halmahera, with capacity of 13,000-15,000 tons per year, is scheduled to be completed in 2018. (*)
