Antam prepares for closure of bauxite mining on Bintan Island

The publicly listed general mining company PT Aneka Tambang (Antam) is making preparations to close down its bauxite mining operation on the Bintan Island in Riau, according to company president Deddy A. Sumanagara.

Deddy said last week that the state-owned company had formed a post-mining team to design the mining closure program.

Deddy said that the bauxite reserves on the Bintan Island would deplete in two years.(Amoros)
