Antam?s coal unit suffers coal sales drop

IDX-listed mining company PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam) said that its coal mining subsidiary PT Indonesia Coal Resources (ICR) saw coal sales volume in the first semester of this year dropped by 62.36 percent to 115,187 tons from 306,022 tons in the same January-June period of last year.

The company said in a statement Friday that unaudited sales revenue in the first half of this year reached Rp 52.80 billion, down from Rp 102.2 billion in the corresponding period of last year.

The company, however, did not provide production volume figure, nor reason for the drop in the sales volume.

Antam said that coal sales volume in the second quarter ending June reached 36,892 tons, with sales revenue of Rp 13.32 billion.

ICR produces coal from Sarolangun coal mine located in Jambi Province. The non-JORC coal reserves stands at 8.25 million tons with calorific value of 5,300-5,500 Kcal/kg.
