Two ferronickel plants in South East Sulawesi which are owned by publicly listed mining firm PT Aneka Tambang (Antam) stopped operation on Wednesday after 1440 workers blockaded them, Koran Tempo daily reported on Thursday.
The workers? action was in protest of the company management?s decision to cut their salaries without prior notice, the newspaper said.
Antam?s spokesperson Syamsuddin Haming denied such allegations.
The two ferronickel plants are located in Pomalaa in South East Sulawesi. (*)
