IDX-listed mining firm PT Aneka Tambang Tbk said that gold production in the first quarter of this year increased by 24 percent to 594 kg (or 19,097 oz) from 479 kg in the corresponding quarter of last year.

Antam, which also buys gold from third parties, said in a statement obtained Saturday that revenue from gold during the quarter totaled Rp 1.16 trillion, accounting for 70 percent of the company?s unaudited revenue of Rp 1.65 trillion.

The company did not provide comparative figures, but this portal reported last year that net revenue in the first quarter was Rp 1.98 trillion.

Earlier this year, Antam said it was seeking to increase gold production from its Pongkor and Cibaliung mines in West Java Province to 2,270 kg this year, compared to last year?s target of 2,256 kg.

Elsewhere, the statement said that Antam is committed to meet its 2017 ferronickel output of 24,100 tons of nickel contained in ferronickel (TNI).

?Antam?s exploration activities until first quarter 2017 focussed on gold and nickel commodities,? the company said, adding that unaudited exploration cost during the quarter totaled Rp 1.12 billion.
