ANTAM?s gold sales revenue rises 71% in Q1

State owned mining company PT Antam Tbk reported on Wednesday that its gold sales revenue rose 71% in the first quarter of 2013 compared to the same period of 2012, due to 63% increase of sales volume to 2,909 kg (93,526 toz).

Gold is the largest contributor to ANTAM?s total net sales with Rp l.55 trillion contribution or 46.5% total net sales.

The company in its quarterly report said that uinaudited income reached Rp 462 billion for the first three months of 2013, a 22% increase compared with the same period last year thanks to the higher gold and nickel ore sales.

"Overall, net sales increased 35.5% to Rp3.34 trillion compared to Rp2.46 trillion in the first quarter of 2012, in line with higher sales of gold and nickel ores," it said.

ANTAM?s gold was all sold in domestic market, reflecting the sustained strong demand of the commodity.
