Antam?s nickel reserves stand at 91.37 million tons

The biggest nickel producer, PT Aneka Tambang (Antam) announced nickel reserves stood at 91,369,000 tons in addition to resources as much as 623,446,000 tons, located in 8 exploration areas, according to MiningIndo.

The biggest reserves are located at Buli mining that reached 66.89m tons, followed by Pulau Gebe 16.60m tons and Pulau Gee 4.58m tons. The three locations are located in Halmahera.

Separately, the biggest nickel resources were found at Pulau Gag (Sorong) that reached 240m tons and Teluk Weda (Halmahera) in the amount of 202.30m tons. Antam?s Corporate Secretary Dohar Siregar in his explanation to JSX said the company has recently found new resources in Pulau Kabaena, Buton in the amount of 1m tons.

The amount is, in fact, not too material compared to Antam?s total reserves and resources. In summary, Antam?s nickel nuggets reach 3 m tons per year. ?In other words, the encounter is equivalent to 4 months production,? he said. (*)
