An 8x17 MW dual fired power plant in Pomalaa, Southeast Sulawesi owned by IDX-listed mining company PT Antam Tbk, will get around 25 mmscfd of gas sourced from Bontang LNG plant, in East Kalimantan, according to an official of Antam.
?We've already held the bidding process related to the LNG supply and the winner is PT PGN LNG Indonesia (a subsidiary of IDX-listed gas distribution firm PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk). The LNG comes from Bontang, with a volume of about 20-25 mmscfd with a contract for 20 years," Antam's Corporate Secretary Tri Hartono said to Petromindo.com.
The LNG price is currently still in negotiation process, according to Tri.
So far the Pomalaa power plant has been running on MFO, Tri said.
In October of last year, Antam appointed PGN LNG to supply LNG regasification as source of energy for power plant at the former?s ferronickel plant in Pomalaa in a bid to help reduce production cost.
