IDX-listed mining company PT Antam Tbk (Antam) said that its 8x17 MW dual fired power plant in Pomalaa, Southeast Sulawesi, will run on gas at the end of this year.

?So far the Pomalaa power plant has been running on MFO. But we will make retrofit or adjustments gradually when changing from MFO into gas. We expect at the end of this year we've been commissioning by using gas,? Antam's Corporate Secretary Tri Hartono said to Petromindo.com.

He added that his company also will carry out construction of a regasification unit in Pomalaa.

Antam has held bidding process related to the LNG supply, and the winner is PT PGN LNG Indonesia, a subsidiary of IDX-listed gas distribution firm PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk. The LNG will come from Bontang, with a volume of about 20-25 mmscfd with a contract for 20 years, according to Tri.
