IDX-listed state-conrolled mining firm PT ANTAM Tbk has set a target for its 2x30 MW coal fired power plant in Pomalaa, Southeast Sulawesi to start operation by November 2015.

Tri Hartono, Antam's Senior Vice President Corporate Secretary toldm Petromindo.Com on Wednesday that initially the company expected the project to come onstream by early September 2015.

"But there are some challenges ahead. If possible, it will come onstream in early November this year," Tri said without elaborating about the hurdles.

Tri added that the power plant will need about 500,000 ton per annum of coal with a calorific value of 5,000 Kcal GAR which will be supplied by Antam's coal mining subsidiary PT Indonesia Coal Resources.

"We will prioritize coal from ICR, but if other parties offer a competitive price, we?ll take it. Still, we shall prioritize ICR," he said.
