IDX-listed mining company PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam) said gold sales volume in the January-August period of this year totaled 7.57 tons, or 66 percent of the full-year target of 11.5 tons.

The company said in a statement on Thursday that it was seeking for new gold export markets including in Southeast Asia, East Asia and the Middle East following import restrictions introduced in India last year. India was Antam?s largest gold export market.

Antam Marketing Director Hari Widjajanto said in the statement that gold accounted for 68 percent, or Rp 2.84 trillion of last year net sales.

He added that Antam?s gold output has been internationally certified with 99.99 percent purity.

Aside from own production at its Pongkor and Cibaliung mines in West Java, Antam also purchased gold ores from other parties.
