IDX-listed state miner PT Aneka Tambang Tbk reported on Monday that it was negotiating to get its nickel ore buyers to shoulder the newly-slapped export levy.

?A number of of Antam?s nickel ore buyers have expressed willingness to shoulder the export tax,? the company said in a report filed with the IDX on Monday. The company did not give further detail.

According to the company, nickel ore export accounts for 27 percent of its revenue.

Antam said it was in the process of obtaining export license from the ministry of trade and has secured recommendation from ministry of energy and mineral resources.

The government recently issued regulation that imposes 20 percent levy on ore export which can only be done by miners which have proposed a concrete and viable plan to build processing facility before 2014, as it plans to completely ban ore export by then.
