ANTAM set to double coal production

IDX and ASX-listed state miner PT ANTAM Tbk, through its coal mining subsidiary PT Indonesia Coal Resources (ICR), plans to more than double coal production this year to 1 million tons from 424,572 tons last year.

The company said in a preliminary 2013 financial report, the copy of which was obtained Tuesday, said that coal sales volume last year reached 304,526 tons, generating an unaudited sales of Rp 81 billion.

ICR produces coal from the Sarolangun coal mine located in Jambi Province. The Non-JORC coal reserves is estimated at 8.25 million tons with the average calorific value of 5,300-5,500 Kcal/kg. ANTAM sells its coal to the export as well as domestic markets.
