ANTAM signs EPC contract on Oxygen Plant No. 5

The contract is worth US$11 million with the project scheduled to be completed in the first semester of 2015.
?The funds are sourced from the issuance of the company?s bond in 2011,? ANTAM said in a statement.
The Oxygen Plant No. 5 is the Package VII of the Pomalaa Ferronickel Plant Expansion Project which is worth a total of $573 million. The oxygen plant which has a 825 Nm3/h (O2) capacity with a 99.6 percent purity is developed with the purpose of adding oxygen supply for the production of high quality ferronickel (low carbon ferronickel). Until October 2013, the firm has spent Rp 1.33 trillion for the project.
The expansion project is divided in eight packages of works, which respectively covers the development of jetty and facilities (Package I); belt conveyors (Package II), Feni-I Plant (Package III), Ladle Furnace (Package IV), Ore Preparation & Calcination (Package V), Electric Smelting Furnace (Package VI), Oxygen Plant (Package VII), 2x30 MW coal fired power plant (Package VIII)
Once the project has been completed, the plant?s production capacity will be increased to 25,000 to 27,000 tons from 18,000-20,000 tons per year with an assumption of nickel content of 1.9 percent.
