ANTAM signs MoU with police

IDX-listed state owned mining firm PT ANTAM (Persero) Tbk announced on Wednesday the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the West Java Police Force on the implementation of security and law enforcement at the firm?s Pongkor gold mine.
ANTAM?s President Director Tato Miraza and West Java Police Chief Inspector General Drs. Suhardi Alius, M.H. signed the MoU on Wednesday in Bandung, West Java.
Following the signing of the MoU, ANTAM and the West Java police will continue to cooperate in providing security and safety at the Pongkor, located in Nanggung, Bogor Regency, West Java. Key aspects of the MoU include security measures, law enforcement and protection of assets and infrastructures of the Pongkor gold mine. The MoU also includes safety education and development of employees and local communities.
ANTAM?s Pongkor gold mine is considered one of Indonesia ?s national vital objects as it has a strategic and vital value to the state. It has a significant contribution to the state revenue and plays a significant role in the environmental and biodiversity management as well as local community development.
Related to the environmental and biodiversity management at the Pongkor gold mine, ANTAM has developed the Center of Biodiversity Conservation in the Halimun Salak Mountain National Park. In the center, ANTAM has a nursery with 500,000 plant seeds. ANTAM has also planted various plants such as schima wallichii, toona sureni, elaeocarpus ganitrus, altingia excelsa, and michelia velutina on the critical lands in the area.
