IDX-listed mining company PT Antam Tbk said it expected to complete the construction of a 2x30 MW coal-fired power plant in Pomalaa, Southeast Sulawesi by March 2016. By December 2015, construction progress has reached 95.4 percent.

?Currently, we are conducting commissioning process and the construction will fully complete by early March 2016,? Antam?s Corporate Secretary Tri Hartono said to Petromindo.com recently.

The coal-fired power plant aims to improve Antam?s efficiency initiative in Pomalaa Ferronickel Smelter Expansion Project in Southeast Sulawesi. ?It requires approximately 400,000 tons of coal per annum,? he said.

The expansion project is expected to produce 27,000 TNi to 30,000 TNi of ferronickel per annum once the construction is completed. Antam sets production target of ferronickel at 20,000 TNi in 2016.
