Antam to pay dividend of Rp179 billion

Publicly listed general mining company PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam) on Wednesday decided to pay cash dividend of Rp179.08 billion (US$=Rp8,625), or 50 percent of the net profit after tax of the year ending December 31, 2001, the company said in a statement.
The dividend, which is equal to Rp145.5 per share, will be paid in two stages namely in August and November 2002, it was agreed in the company?s general shareholders meeting held on Wednesday.
Antam is a state company and is listed on the Jakarta Stock Exchange and an Australian bourse.
The company mines for nickel and gold in Central Sulawesi and West Java, respectively.
It has planned to build its third ferronickel plant in Pomalaa, Central Sulawesi, and an aluminum facility West Kalimantan. (robert/Leo)
