IDX-listed mining company PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam) plans to produce 20,000 TNi of ferronickel from its smelter in Pomalaa, Southeast Sulawesi. Antam is expanding the smelter to boost the ferronickel production.
"For 2016, we set the production target at 20,000 TNi," Antam's Corporate Secretary Tri Hartono said to Petromindo.com on Tuesday. In 2015, Antam produced 17,211 TNi.
Pomalaa Ferronickel Smelter Expansion Project, a US$600 million worth project, aims to produce 27,000 to 30,000 TNi per annum once the project is completed and runs in full capacity.
"By the end of December 2015, the project realization reached 98.67 percent," he said.
